 Dance With Me

Truham boys was a buzz as the students walked through the halls on a warm June morning. They were informed about a prom between them and the girls school happening next Friday. But the students who were extemely excited were young couple Nick and Charlie. As soon as their Form teacher Mr. Lange annouced the news, Nick and Charlie looked at each other with an infectious loving smile shared between them. "I can't believe this is happening!" Nick said as they were walking to lunch later that day. "I know! I'm very excited!" Charlie said linking hands with his boyfriend. "Disgusting!" They a boy shout at them. Charlie tensed at the comment, but Nick squeezed his hand tighter. "It's okay love, don't listen to them, they're just jealous because they're single." Charlie relaxed at that. At lunch they sat with Tao and Isaac, talking about what they're gonna wear to prom, and how they plan to ask their dates. Tao is going with Elle, but he's not sure how to ask her. "It's just, Elle is so confident and beautiful, and I'm so awkward I don't know what to say." Tao said with a whine, and put his head in his hands. "Tao, just ask her the way you know how, she won't care how you ask her, she'll just be happy you did." Charlie said trying to reassure his friend. "Okay you're right, I just need to take a deep breath and trust that she'll want to go with me." Tao said seeming to calm down. 

"So Isaac, who are you taking to the prom?" Nick asked curious. "Oh I'm just going by myself, I'm not really interested in the whole date thing." "oh that's cool." "hey how about we all meet up at Charlie's house before we go, the girls and us can all get ready for prom before we leave." It was a plan, later that day after school Nick and Charlie were hanging out at Nick's house just playing with Nellie, and cuddling. Charlie noticed that Nick had ducked out of the room, and was wondering where he went. When he came back in, he was holding something behind his back, and had a look of admiration on his face. "Charlie, I have something very important to ask you." Charlie's heart started beating, he couldn't think straight, he started shaking slightly. Nick grabbed Charlie's hand, got down on one knee and pulled out a little black box he had hiddedn behind his back. "Charlie would you go to the prom with me?" Tears were forming in his eyes, as he looked down at the boy he loved with all his heart and soul. When Nick opened the box, he saw a beautiful promise ring that had Forever Yours engraved in the band. "yes, a thousand times yes!" Nick slipped the ring on Charlie's finger, then they shared a passionate kiss to seal the deal. 

Meanwhile at Tara's house, her and Darcy were in a similar situation about prom. They were singing karaoke, and dancing when they fell on top of each other, laughing. "Darcy, would you go to the prom with me?" Tara asked as the girls broke from their kiss. "hmm let me think there jonesy." Darcy said teasingly. "uh okay!" They laughed then kiss again, happy to be going together. Over at Tao's house, he and Elle were curled up together watching a movie, that Elle thought was teririble, but Tao really liked it so she sucked it up for him. Tao turns to her, and has a goofy grin on his face. "What? something on your mind?" Elle said confused by his expression. "Elle, you know you're my best friend right?" Tao said, trying not to get emotional. "yeah, where are you going with this Tao Xu?" she said a little concerned. "well, I wanted to ask you something, and you can say no if you want to. Would you go to the prom with me?" Elle was taken aback, she wasn't expecting this. "the prom? That doesn't sound like something you would be interested in." Elle said teasingly. "but, sure I would love to go with you. It will give me a chance to show off the dress I made." They hugged, and very subtly Tao pulled her in for a kiss. "does this mean we're datig now?" "I think it does." 

The following week, on Friday night just before the prom started. Everone was running around Charlie's house putting together their outfits, and fixing their hair. Tori was just standing in the doorway, sipping her lemonade and rolling her eyes at the people panicking. She wasn't even going, but she was being supportive for her brother and his friends/boyfriend. "would you all calm down, you're acting like you're gonna be late for the oscars." Tori said, then took a sip from her drink. "we can't help it, we want to look our best for each other." Charlie said, tying his tie. "okay, but you don't have to be that crazy about it." Finally after what felt like forever, everyone was dressed and ready to go. Elle was wearing a beautiful, emerald green dress she made herself, with a cute pattern of blue roses on the hem. Tara was wearing a simple, yet elegant pink dress with a little bit of sparkle on the sleeves. Darcy was dressed in a light blue pantsuit, with little bluebirds on the cuffs of the sleeves. Then there the boys, Tao was dressed in a matching green suit, that looked perfect next to Elle's dress. Nick was wearing a light blue t-shirt, with a paisly patterned neck tie, and a navy jacket matching with the pants. Charlie was wearing a yellow suit, with a bowtie that had little cats on it. Nick and Charlie wanted to wear blue and yellow because those were their colours for each other. 

Everyone looked amazing, Tori took pictures for everyone before they got into Nick's mum's car, for she had offered to drive everyone to the school. When they arrived at the gym, it was transformed into a beautiful prom paradise. There was a disco ball hanging from the rafters, a rainbow of streamers all over the ceiling, and soft lights were on display, there were also balloons hanging on the walls. The group was estactic, and they walked in with their heads held high. Sure they got some turn of the heads, but they didn't care. When it was time for the slow songs, the group split, and went with their significant others. "Nick would you dance with me?" Charlie asked offering his hand. "Char, you know I can't dance." Nick said feeling embarrassed. "that's okay, just follow my lead." Charlie put his arms around Nick's neck, and Nick put his hands on Charlie's waist. They fell into step with each other, eventually letting Nick lay his head on Charlie's chest. "there you go, you're doing great babe." Charlie whispered into Nick's ear. "I love you." Charlie pulled back, to look his boyfriend in the eyes. "did you just say you love me?" Nick was getting ready to take it back, but before he could Charlie pulled Nick into his arms and kissed him in front of everyone. The music stopped, people's heads turned, there was a collective gasp. Charlie grabbed Nick's hand and led him to their form room. "I love you too. I love you so much." Charlie said pressing his forehead against Nick's. "I can't believe you just kissed me in front of everyone! I'm so proud of you." The boys decided to ditch their friends, and spend the rest of prom relaxing in Nick's room. Now that they knew they loved each other, they spent the night looking lovingly at each other, and kissing underneath the soft lights in Nick's room. It was a prom they would always remember.
