A Rockstar Love short story

Lyric's P.O.V 

My name is Lyric Anderson, I'm 21 years old, and this is the story of how I met the love of my life. It's a bit of a crazy one, so be prepared for that. It all started my fresh man year of high school. 

Flashback Grade 9 Lyric 14 years old

I walked inside my school's front doors, so terrified. I had never been to a big school before, and I was worried I would get overwhelmed. One glance around the lobby, and I was right. So many students were talking and laughing, and horsing around. It was a lot to take in. So after getting my schedule, and my locker number. I walked with my head down through the halls, trying to find it. Once I got to my locker, I opened it up and threw my bag in there. I put in a cd, in my player, and put my headphones on. Grabbing my notebook, and my pencil, I shut my locker. I was about to head to my first class, when I accidently ran into someone. "Oh, sorry love. I didn't see you there." I heard someone say. When I looked up, I saw the most beautiful person in the world. They're eyes were mesmerizing. I also noticed they had a lovely British accent. "It's ok, I should've watched where I was going." I said nervously playing with my hair. They smiled at me, and helped pick up my stuff. "There you are darling." They said, handing me back my notebook. "What's your name?" They asked me. "I'm Lyric." I said. With a blush. "Nice to meet you Lyric, I'm Blade." They said. "That's an interesting name." I said. "Well it's just a stage name, my real name is Rain." They said. "Stage name? Are you a musician?" I asked my eyes lighting up. "I want to be, I play guitar and sing, and write songs. It's always been a dream of mine to perform though." They said smiling. "I'm sure you'll make it, I would love to hear you sing sometime." I said. "I think that could be arranged." I blushed, and shuffled my feet a little bit. "Can I walk you to class?" They asked. "Yeah, sure." They hooked their arm with mine, and lead me down the hallway. 

Grade 10 Lyric age 15

I can't believe it's been a year since I met my partner, Rain is so romantic! We've been on a few dates, and I got to hear them play. They're actually really good! I'm hanging out in their room right now, completely in awe of them. Every once in a while Rain will look up at me, and smile. I melt every time. I see them put their beautiful black checkered electric guitar down, and come over to me. They place a gentle kiss on my forehead, before taking my hand and laying down next to me. "You played amazingly." I said dreamily. "Thank you babygirl." They said, again kissing my forehead. I love when they call me babygirl. "Hey listen, I have a new song that I want you to hear. I want to know what you think of it, before I record it." They said picking back up their guitar. "The girl with the pretty eyes, the one that no one sees. She's invisible to the rest of the world, but she's everything to me." The first couple of lines they sang, I was floored. I didn't know what to do. But I thought it was beautiful. When the song was done, I had a few tears in my eyes. Blade came over to me, and was worried. "Baby, why are you crying? What's wrong?" They asked me, holding my arms gently. "The song is so beautiful, I loved it." I said through the tears. "I'm glad you think so, because I wrote it about you." And just like that, I knew I was in love. 

Grade 11 Lyric age 16

Blade is making waves in their music, they almost have their demo finished. And they plan to send it to a record label soon. I'm so proud of them. I myself have also been pretty successful, I'm a writer too. I may not write songs, but I write stories and music reviews. In fact, Blade always lets me write reviews of their songs. Then they send them, to record labels as well. They want me to write reviews for big shots one day, and that's a great way to get into that. I love how supportive they are of my writing, just like I am with their music. That's our bond, since that day in grade 9. After school, we met in the park. And we started talking about music, and our favourite artists. We compared our CD collections, it was nice. Now here we are two years later, and we still have that special bond. "Hey babe!" They said, coming into my house with their guitar slung around their back. "Hey my rockstar." I said, as I kissed them. "What is my lovely girlfriend doing?" They said, sitting on my bed, and staring at my laptop. "Oh, I'm just reviewing that last song you sent me." I said, pulling them over to my writing. "This is so good, very descriptive baby." They said kissing my temple. "Thank you." I said blushing. "Let me know when you're done with it, so I can send it in for you." I nodded, smiling at them. "Do you really think I have a chance at this whole rockstar thing?" Blade asked me. Laying down on my bed. "I absolutely do, just because you haven't heard anything from any of the labels you sent your demo to, doesn't mean you're not good enough." I said, taking their hand. They smiled at me, and kissed my hand. "You're so sweet baby, I believe you." They said. "There's something I want to tell you, something that's been playing through my mind all day." They said. I was breathless, waiting for what they were about to tell me. "Lyric, I love you." I was floored, and I smiled so big. I leaned over to them, and I kissed the heck out of their mouth. "I love you too, so much." I said trying not to cry. "I have something for you, I hope you like it." They said, pulling out a little wrapped box, the paper had little music notes on it. I slowly unwrapped the box, and inside was sheet music. "This is the sheet music, and rough cut lyric sheet of the song I wrote for you. I wanted you to have it." I was full on crying, it was the sweetest thing ever. "This is the best gift you could have gotten me, thank you babes." I said kissing them again. 

Grade 12 Lyric age 17 graduation

Here we are, Blade and I standing on the stage. About to receive our diplomas, signifying that we are no longer kids with dreams. We are young adults going after our dreams. We couldn't stand next to each other on stage because we had to be in alphabetical order, but I could see them down the way. They waved to me, and gave me a thumbs up telling me I was gonna be fine. They know how anxious I get, and doing that makes me feel better. They called my name, and I grabbed my diploma with pride. I turned my tassel over, and my family took pictures. Then I went to take my seat, and when Blade's name was called I was cheering louder than anyone else there. "Wooo!!! That's my partner!!!" I shouted. They smiled at me, and blew me a kiss. After the ceremony, Blade pulled me aside, and kissed me hard. "You look beautiful." Whispered as they pushed my hair behind my ear. "So do you." I said smiling. "Hehe, thank you baby." They said, pulling me in for a hug. "Hey, they're having the reception at the park, did you wanna go?" They asked. "No, I wanna go to your place." They nodded, and took my hand, leading me to their house. We spent graduation night, in each others arms, with soft music playing in the background. We also watched music videos together, then to end the night we watched a movie. During the movie, Blade gets a call. "Hang on lovely, I have to take this." They said, walking into the kitchen. "No way! For real?! That's amazing!" I wasn't sure what was going on, but Blade sounded really excited. "Ok, thank you!" Blade ends the call, then comes running in, and picks me up in their arms. "Baby, I did it! I landed a record deal!" They said spinning me around. "OMG! Babes, this is amazing!" I said sharing their enthusiasm. "They want me to come in right away, to record an album! This could jump start my career!" They said, smiling so big. I was so happy for them, they worked so hard to get here. "Wow, that's incredible!" I said, kissing them. "And I want you to be there, you're my inspiration, and my girl, you helped me get here. It's only right that you're there, while I record the most important bunch of songs of my life." I was so in awe. "Of course I'll be there!" I said. 

Lyric age 21 

I can't believe I'm in the UK! I'm on tour with my partner, and I'm getting paid to write reviews for the most popular bands in the world! I feel like I'm in a living dream. But it's not all glitz and glam, you see Blade has been on kind of a binge lately. Leaning into the more hard side of fame, and rockstar life. It's been hard, seeing the person you love go through drug withdrawls. But I've been there with them through it all, and also when they were having bad mental health days. The days when they felt like they weren't good enough, or thought about ending it. I was there, to hold them and tell them, how much they mean to me. Now, we're stronger then ever. As I look up on that stage, and see the love of my life playing their songs for millions of fans. I know I couldn't be prouder of them. During the song they wrote for me, they look over to the wings where I stand, and wink at me. I wink back, and they continue on. "Thank you all so much for coming out, that song was for the girl who changed my life. What do you say we bring her out here?" They yelled to the crowd. Everyone went crazy. Blade comes over, and gently leads me out on stage. "Isn't she beautiful everyone?" The crowd cheers, and I blush. "Baby, I wrote you a new song. This one explains how you helped me be who I am today, and how much I love you." Stage crew brings out a chair for me to sit on, and Blade begins to play. "The day we met, is one that I will never forget. You brought this light into my life. Never knew anyone like you before, all I knew is that I wanted more." Hearing their beautiful voice sing a song just for me, in front of millions of people. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. After the set, when it was just them and me, they whispered. "Follow me, I want to take you somewhere." We walked for a while, taking in London at night. It was beautiful, I loved everything. "Close your eyes lovely." They said. I was skeptical, I didn't know what they had planned. But I closed my eyes, and felt them grab my hand. After a while I smelled grass, and trees. "Okay, you can open your eyes now." I slowly opened my eyes, and what I saw was a clearing. There was grass, and trees, and tiny purple flowers. In the clearing was a blanket, and a CD player. "This is so cute." I said, as we both sat down. "Do you remember our first kiss?" They asked me. "How could I forget? It was our first date, you took me to the music store. We picked out CDs for each other, when suddenly I'm With You by Avril Lavigne came on the speakers. You tucked my hair behind my ear, and planted one on me right there in the store." I said, smiling at the memory. "Yup, that was one of the best days of my life baby." They said, kissing me. "Well today is the anniversary of that day, and I wanted to do something special for you." They said. They picked up their guitar, and started playing the intro of I'm With You. My heart was melting, and in that moment I had never felt so in love before. "Did you like it?" They asked me. "I loved it! You played and sang that song so beautifully." I said, pulling them into a hug. "You are so beautiful baby girl, and I love you so much." They said kissing my hair. "I love you too my rockstar." I said, burying into their chest. "I have one more thing for you." They pulled out a box, that was wrapped in my favourite colour. I opened it, and inside was a necklace that had a guitar charm on it. It looked exactly like one of theirs. "No matter how far apart we are, whenever you wear this necklace, just know I'm always close in your heart." I started to cry, as they carefully slipped the piece of jewelry on my neck. "It's beautiful babes, I love it." I said, kissing them. "I actually have something for you too." I said, handing them a box. "Oh darling, you didn't have to get me anything." They said, as they unwrapped it. "I wanted to." I said. When they opened it, they couldn't believe their eyes. "Baby, this is amazing!" They said. Inside was a guitar pic I had custom made, it was a black pic with a white music note, and our names engraved on it. It said Lyric + Rain= Forever. With a little heart, only it was a different type of heart. <3 it looked like this. "Thank you so much, I'll use it all the time." They said, kissing me softly. That night it was just them and me, laying under the stars. I was wrapped up in their strong arms, listening to their heartbeat. 

Well there you go, that was the story of how I met the love of my life. Do you have anything to say Blade? "Hey guys, Blade here. Can my girl tell a story or what?!" Babes, you're gonna make me blush. "Hehe, I know but I love seeing you blush, it's so cute." Okay, okay. We have to go now. Bye everyone. "Bye people!"
