 Just Hold Me

Hey everybody! Welcome back to fangirl confessions, happy May!!! I'm in the mood to write a little fluffy fanfic, with some angst I hope you enjoy!

In the dead of night, appromoximately 2:30 in the morning actually. Nick and Charlie were sleeping soundly together, not a care in the world. Until it wasn't, Charlie started tossing and turning violently and letting out small whimpers. He was caught in the throws of a horrible nightmare, Ben had him cornered and was trying to kiss him, Nick just stood there and watched. Then Ben started to become violent, he was hitting Charlie and Charlie desperately called out for help from Nick, but Nick just looked at him completely frozen to the ground. Nick started to sense some distress next to him, and woke up worried. "Charlie?" he said with concern. Nick looked at the side of the bed where his boyfriend laid, and what he saw broke his heart. "Char? Char, wake up! You're dreaming, it's okay I'm right here." Nick said gently shaking Charlie awake. Charlie shot awake, shaking and breathing heavily. Nick pulled Charlie close to him, and held him tight. Charlie sobbed into Nick's chest, hearing his sweet boyfriend in so much hurt Nick. "it's okay Char, I'm right here, you're safe." Nick said rubbing Charlie's back soothingly. "it was so real, I was so scared, and you didn't do anything." Charlie sobbed. "is there anything I can do?" Nick asked bringing Charlie's face to look at him. "can you just hold me? please?" Charlie said brokenly. "I can always do that, I'm always here for you Char I love you." "I love you too." They spent the next hour just being held in each other's arms, not long after Charlie fell asleep again, and he didn't have anymore nightmares. The next morning when they woke up, Nick looked at Charlie who was still sound asleep on his chest, and smiled. "I love you so much Charlie, there are times where I can't believe you're mine, I'm gonna let you sleep a little longer, I'm not going anywhere love." Nick whispered, then placed a gentle kiss on Charlie's hair. Nick didn't notice this, but ever so subtly, Charlie smiled because he knew Nick loved him, and he would always be there to keep him safe.
