 Skating For Love Pt. 2

Chole P.O.V.

Hi, my name is Chole Sterling. I'm fifteen years old. I have an older cousin, who I'm sure you've heard of. Kieran Danson. I live with my mom, I never met my dad. My mom said, he died before I was born. She doesn't like to talk about him, so I don't bring him up. I'm a scene girl, I love Invader Zim, colourful stuff, axolotls, singing, dancing, making bracelets, and hanging out at the park. I'm a little on the short side, I have bright blue hair, with some black striped pieces of it. I wear a black lip ring, I wear a lot of bracelets and various coloured gloves, I wear ripped tights, with different skirts, and I occasionally wear dresses. I also wear my bright multicoloured DC high top sneakers. Oh and I also love graphic t-shirts. I also wear eyeliner. I invited this guy Sam to hang out this weekend, he's my cousin's wife's younger brother. He seems pretty cool, and he is really cute. We talked a lot last night, and it was really nice. "Oh a text from Sam." I say, as I open my phone. "Hey, I'm on my way out. If you could please give me your address, that would be great. :)" I read. Oh dang, I totally forgot to tell him where I live. I texted back "Sorry about that, I forgot to tell you where I live lol, it's a little ways past where my cousin used to live. It's on that road, you just go past my aunt Sandra's house, and it's the house at the end of the block. You can't miss it! :)" I finished. A little while later, I heard a knock on the door. "Hey Chole, um these are for you." Sam said, handing me some flowers. "Oh thank you, they're lovely." I said, smelling them. "Let me put these in water." I said, looking for a vase. After I placed the flowers in water, I met Sam back outside. "Where do you wanna go?" He asked me. "How about the park?" I suggested. "Sounds good to me, I even brought my board in case you wanted too." He said, brandishing his skateboard. It had a dragon design on the bottom of it, it was pretty cool. "Oh, you skateboard? That's so cool!" I said, because truthfully I really did like skaterboys. "Thanks." He said, looking down shyly. At the park, Sam was tearing it up on the ramp. While I put my dance playlist on, and practiced some steps.

Sam P.O.V.

I was at the park with Chole, and I was tearing it up on the ramps. I glanced over at her, and saw she was dancing. She's actually really good, and made me want to join in with her. She looks so beautiful while dancing, very elegant and graceful. I stopped my board, and went over to her. "Uh, hey." I said, waving at her to get her attention, since she had her headphones on. "Oh, hey." She said, pausing her music. "You looked like you were having a lot of fun, and I wanted to know if I could join you?" I asked. "Sure, that would be cool." She said, with a smile. "I hope you don't mind listening to Avril Lavigne." She said, as she qeued up her music. "I don't mind, my sister listens to her. And I think she's very talented." I said, and she smiled even bigger. We had fun laughing and dancing together. "You know, I've kind of always wanted to learn how to skateboard." She said to me. "I could teach you, if you want?" I offered. "Yeah!" She said excitedly. So we went over to the ramps, and I helped her on to the board. "Okay, what you want to do is push off with your back foot, while keeping your front foot on the board." I said, steadying her. "Alright." She nodded understanding. "Are you nervous? You're shaking." I said, concerned. "Yeah, I'm scared to fall." She admitted. "It's okay to be scared, and it's okay to fall to. I have fallen plenty of times while learning." I told her. "If you do fall, I'll be there to make sure you're okay." I promised her. "Are you ready?" I asked. She nodded, and started to move the board forward. "There you go, you're doing great!" I said, as she rolled across the skatepark. "That was great! Now slowly turn around, and come back." I called to her. She nodded, and then made her way back to me. "I did it!" She did, as she came to stop in front of me. Then she got off the board, and hugged me. Something exploded in my chest, a feeling I've never felt before. I liked having her in my arms. But the moment was over and she pulled away. "Thanks for teaching me, maybe I could learn some tricks eventually." She said. "I would love to teach you some tricks." I told her. We spent the rest of the afternoon, listening to music, and just talking about life, and how we're both not looking forward to school starting. Eventually though, it became dark and we had to get home. "I had a lot of fun today." Chole said to me, before she left. "Me too, you're really fun to hang out with." I told her. "Thanks, so are you." She said with a shy smile. "Well, I guess I'll see you at school." She said, before waving and walking off. "Yeah, see you at school." I said, as I waved goodbye. When I got home, I was having all these confusing feelings. I walked in the house, and mom and dad were in the kitchen. "Hey kiddo, did you have fun today?" Mom asked me. "I really did!" I said, as I sat down at the table. "Hey buddy, did you and Chris have fun?" Dad asked me. "Dad, I told you Chris is visiting his dad before school starts." I said. "Oh right, so who did you spend time with today?" He asked. "I told you dear, Sam went to hang out with Chole. She was at the wedding two years ago." Mom said. "Oh yeah, I remember her." He said. "Did you two have fun?" He asked me. "We did, she's a really cool girl." I said. "That's good." He said with a nod. After dinner, and a shower, I was just laying in bed staring up at the celing. So many thoughts and feelings were running though me, I couldn't tell what I was feeling. I went on my laptop, and googled "Do I have a crush?" Hoping to find some answers. After doing a few quizes, I was still confused. I decided to call my sister, maybe she could help me figure things out. "Hey sis, I hope I'm not interupting anything. I was just wondering if I could talk to you for a bit." I said. "Oh hey Sam, don't worry you're not interupting anything. What did you want to talk about?" She asked me. "Well, I hung out with Chole today at the park. We had a really good time, dancing, laughing, and talking. I even taught her to skateboard a little bit." I said. "Aww that's sweet." She said. "Yeah, and when she skated back over to me, she hugged me. And when she hugged me, I felt  something I've never felt before." I said. "I see, can you describe the feeling?" She asked me. "Yeah, it felt like, I just wanted to be closer to her. I liked having her in my arms, it felt really nice." I said. "I see, now tell me what do you like about her?" Emily asked me. "I like how talented she is, she's a really good dancer, and she sings really well too, her voice is so pretty. I love the way she laughs, and smiles, I love her eyes, I love her hair, I love how upbeat she is." I said. "Okay, well I think you might have a crush." Emily said. I thought about it, then really started to piece things together. "How do I know?" I asked her. "Hang on a sec, let me put Kieran on." She said. It was silent for awhile, then I heard Kieran's voice. "Hey buddy, Emily tells me you might like my cousin?" Kieran said. "Yeah, how did you know, you liked my sister?" I asked him. "Well, I thought she was really beautiful, and special. There's this light about her, that I love so much. She's also really smart, and talented. I couldn't help but fall for her." He said, in a dreamy tone. "Anything else?" I asked. "Well, I couldn't stop thinking about her. When we were apart, I always thought about her. She makes me a better person." He said. "I kind of feel like that, Chole is so cool, and pretty. I think I'm falling for her, but I don't know if she feels the same way." I said. "Did you ask her?" Kieran said. "No, but maybe I could when we're at school." I said. "That's sounds like a good plan buddy, I'm glad I could help." He said. "Thank you so much, good night Kieran. Oh, and tell Emily I say goodnight as well." I said. "I will, good night Sam." He said, then hung up.

Chole P.O.V.

Well, today is the first day of school. I'm kind of used to this by now, I'm not exactly popular, but I'm not a loner either. I'm kind of in between, I just really would rather be anywhere else but school you know? "Chole!" I heard someone say my name, I turned and saw my best friend Jax. "Hey girl!" I said as she ran into me, giving me a hug. "How was your summer?" She asked me. "It was cool, yours?" I said to her. "It was alright, I went to visit my aunt and uncle in California." Jax said. Jax has turquiose hair, two lip piercings, green eyes, she's slim, and wears black rimmed glasses, she's also scene like me. Jax lives with her dads, and younger sister Layla. She's been my best friend since grade 8. "Oh that's cool." I said to her, as we walked into school. "So do you like someone?" Jax asked me. "I might." I said, looking away. "Oooh, you totally do! What's their name?" Jax asked me. "Okay, but you have to promise you won't tell anyone!" I told her. "I promise." She said, crossing her heart. "Okay, his name is Sam, and we met at my cousin's wedding two years ago, but we got to know each other over the weekend." I said, blushing a little as I did. Then I saw him, he was looking down at his schedule probably trying to find his locker. He was so cute. "OMG, is that him?" Jax whispered. I nodded, twirling my hair. "He's a little young, isn't he?" Jax said. "He's only a year younger than me." I said. "But he's a freshman, and you're a sophomore." Jax whispered. "So? Why does that matter?" I asked her, not seeing the big deal. "Hmm, I guess you're right." Jax said. Just then the bell rang. "Oh, class is starting, I'll see you at lunch!" Jax called as she headed off to her first class. When I got to my first class, which was English. I saw Sam sitting by the window, I thought that I had the wrong class until I looked down at my schedule. It turns out because of some number issues with how many students, some classes had to be split. So I was placed in a freshman/sohpomore English class. I decided to sit next to him. "Hey" I said, waving to him. "Oh hey Chole." He said smiling. "How has your first day been?" I asked him. "It's been okay so far, Chris and I had a hard time finding the office, but we got there eventually." He said. "That's good!" I replied. "I like your outfit." Sam said. "Thank you, I like yours too." I said to him. He nodded his thanks. "Welcome freshman, and sophomores to applied English class!" The teacher said. "My name is Miss Anderson, and I will be your teacher this semester!" She said. I kind of tuned out after that, I found myself staring at Sam. I wasn't sure how I felt about him at first, but I think I might be crushing on him. "For your first major project, I would like you to all pair up. Freshman with sophomores, and I would like you all to find a book and write a report on it." Miss Anderson said. "Would you like to be my partner?" Sam asked me, kind of nervously. "Sure!" I said, with a smile. "Great, if you want you can come to my place after school to work." Sam said. "I would love to!" I said. After English it was music class, and that's an all grades class. I walked in and saw Jax sitting in our usual spot. "Hey C!" Jax said as I sat down. "How was your first class?" She asked me. I told her about the assignment, and how I'm partners with Sam. "You are crushing so hard on him!" She squealed. "I know! I wish I had the courage to tell him." I said.

Sam P.O.V.

"Dude! I can't believe Chole wanted to be my partner!" I told Chris while we were leaving school. "You're so lucky man, so what's the next step?" Chris asked me. "Well I invited her over to my place, I guess we'll go from there." I said, as we skated. "Remember to be polite, and ask her questions about herself, girls love that!" Chris said. "And how may girlfriends have you had?" I asked him. "Well, none. But my older cousin Josh told me everything I know about girls." He told me. "I don't think you should be taking dating advice from him, considering him and his girlfriend broke up." I said to him, as we rounded a corner. Chris just shrugged, and I laughed. "I will however, try to make her feel comfortable while she's at my house." I told him. I really did want Chole to feel comfortable, not just at my house but also with me. I really like, and I think I might tell her this evening. "Well good luck man, I have homework to do, so I'll see you tomorrow." Chris said, as we fist bumped and he skated away. "Mom, Dad, I'm home!" I called as I walked inside the house. "Hey honey, how was your first day of high school?" My mom asked, as she peaked from inside the kitchen. "It was pretty good, Chris and I have a few classes together, and of course lunch." I said. "That's great honey." She said, as she pulled me in for a hug. "Mom, I invited someone over is that okay?" I asked. "Sure, are they staying for dinner?" She asked me. "Oh, I'm not sure." I said. "Well if they do, we have plently of food." My mom said smiling. "She sould be here soon." I said, as I went up to my room. "She?" My mom called, but I was already in my room. I waas busy cleaning up the space, making sure it looked nice for Chole. Not too long after that, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" I said, as I practically flew down the stairs. "Hi Sam." Chole said. "Hey Chole, come on in." I said. "Hello there, you must be the guest Sam said was coming. I'm Sam's mom, it's nice to meet you." My mom said, holding out her hand. "I'm Chole, it's nice to meet you too." She said, shaking my mom's hand. "Well, I'll leave you two alone, and Chole please feel free to stay for dinner." My mom said, heading back into the kitchen. "I just might, thank you." Chole said. "Come on, let's go to my room." I said, leading the way upstairs. "Hey, Sam. I want the door open okay?" Mom said. "Okay mom." I said a little embarrassed. "This is my room." I said as I opened the door. My room wasn't anything special, I just had some band posters on the wall, and I have a poster of Kieran as well. I have a corner with all my skateboard stuff, I have a small desk, a bed, a dresser, my closet, and a window. "You have a pretty cool room." Chole said, looking around. "Thank you." I said, and she saw the poster of Kieran. "It must be weird having a famous cousin huh?" I said. "It can be, but I know he's living his dream. So I'm very proud of him." Chole said. "What book should we do our report on?" I asked her. "Hmm, I'm not sure." She said, sitting down on the bed. We decided to look up book suggestions online, and while we were looking Chole's hand brushed mine for a second. It felt like a jolt of electricity just shot up my arm. "How about this one?" Chole said pointing to a book. I liked the cover, and the title. I read the synopsis, and found it quite interesting. "Sure, it sounds cool." I said. We each ordered our own copies. "Since we can't really do any actual work on this project, until our books come. How about we do our homework?" Chole suggested. I nodded and got out my stuff. While I was doing math, and Chole was working on history, I felt like she was looking at me. I slowly moved my eyes up, and she was staring me. Oh, she caught me looking, she's staring down at her book. A few minutes went by, and I felt her looking at me again. "Can I help you?" I asked causally. "Oh, sorry, you just looked really cute." She said, blushing. I smiled shyly. "Oh, um thank you." I said. I wanted to ask her out, so I decided to just go for it. "Hey, Chole. Would you maybe want to go out with me?" I asked. "Like on a date?" She asked, smiling. "Yeah." I said. "Sure! I would love to!" She said, excitedly.

Stay tuned for part 3
