Sick Day
Sick Day
An Emily and Kieran One-shot
Emily P.O.V.
It was a beautiful sunny summer morning, I was the first to wake up because I'm a morning person. I looked over at my husband still sleeping, and I smiled. I was thinking how lucky I was to have someone like him in my life. I carefully got up, and decided to make us both breakfast. We have a meeting at the label with the crew this morning, just to go over some business stuff, as well as talking about potential collabs with other artists. It could be a huge opportunity for Kieran, and I'm really excited about it. I decided to make pancakes, since we both loved them. After I made breakfast, and I was eating Kieran still hadn't come down yet. He usually comes down when he smells chocolate chip pancakes. They're his favourite! I went back upstairs to see if he was okay, and when I got to our bed. I saw Kieran still curled up asleep. "Babe? It's time to get up." I said, as I stroked his hair. He shifted, and let out a sleepy groan. God he was adorable. "Come on babe, I made your favourite for breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes!" I said excitedly. He shifted again, and rolled over on to his back. "You gotta get up, we have that meeting this morning." I said, pulling the covers off him. "Hmm, don't wanna." He said, grouchily. That's when I noticed he winced a little bit, and his cheeks looked flushed. "Babe? Are you feeling okay?" I asked him. "To tell you the truth, not really." He said, closing his eyes tight. "What's wrong my love?" I asked, sitting on the bed. "My head hurts, and my throat, and my stomach." He said, miserably. My poor boy, I felt his forehead, and he was burning up! "Oh babe, I think you have a fever." I said, concerned. He just nodded, because I think he knew. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get the thermometer just to be sure." I said. I came back with the thermometer, and sure enough Kieran did have a fever. "I better call Amanda and tell her we're not coming in today." I told him. "I knew how much you were looking forward to this meeting, but you're too sick my love." I told him, squeezing his hand. Kieran nodded. I made sure Kieran had everything he needed, before I called Amanda. She was very understanding, and told Kieran to get well soon. When I came back to the room, Kieran was gone. "Babe? Where did you go?" I called out to him. I walked down the hall, and I saw the bathroom light was on. I carefully opened the door, and there was my poor husband hunched over the toilet dry heaving, and holding his stomach in pain. I knelt down next to him, and gently rubbed his back. "Shh, shh, you're okay my love." I whispered gently to him. "Baby? I can't believe you're actually in here." He said weakly. Kieran knows I have a hard time with sickness and germs and stuff. "The love of my life isn't feeling well, and I'm trying to put my own uncomfortableness aside, to make sure you're okay." I told him. He smiled at that, before he retched painfully into the toilet. "You really are sick, aren't you?" I said, rubbing his back again. When Kieran felt like he was done, I carefully helped him make it back to our room. "There you go babe, you just relax." I said, as he layed down slowly. "It hurts." He said, holding his stomach. "I know my love, I know something that might help." I said, as I went to gather some supplies. I came back with the typical sick day stuff. A hot waterbottle, a cold compress, some ibuprofen, saltine crackers, water, and some movies we can watch together. "Okay, first let's get some medicine into you." I said. After Kieran took a pill, and had some water, I placed the hot waterbottle gently on his sore tummy. "That feels so good." He said, relaxing at the warmth. "I'm glad my love." I say, as I placed the cold compress on his head. "Here, you can pick out a movie." I said, showing him the options. He picked The Little Mermaid, which I thought was really sweet. He knows I love that movie, and I think he wanted me to enjoy myself even though he felt so awful. I popped it in the DVD player, and we settled in to watch. A little bit into the movie, I asked how Kieran was feeling. "I still feel icky, but it hurts less." He said. "That's good." I told him, stroking his hair again. "This isn't the worse time I've felt like this, when I was getting clean from drugs was the worse time." He said, shuddering at the memory. "I remember, God you were so sick." I said, also remembering that horrible day. "But the best part about feeling icky, I have you to help me feel better. That makes it all worth it." He said, smiling at me. "I love you K." I told him. "I love you too my angel." He said, blowing me a kiss. Even though we had to reschedule the meeting, and Kieran got sick. This was still one of the best days I've ever had with him.
