Halloween
A Emily and Kieran oneshot
Emily P.O.V.
Yay! It's Halloween! Kieran and I are going to take Sammy trick or treating! And of course we're dressing up! I'm gonna be a fallen angel, and he's gonna be a zombie! We're getting ready right now, I have on this long black dress with some tattering on the bottom, and a black halo that's fluffy. I have on some short fishnet gloves, and some cuff bracelets. I also have on my shredded tights, a tattoo style choker, and a necklace with a black heart. I slip on my little black boots, and put my black feathered wings on. I grabbed my bag, and went to see if Sammy was ready. "Hey bro, you ready to head out?" I asked him, knocking on his door. "Yup, I'm ready!" He said, opening his door, and coming out wearing his dinosuar costume. "You look great Sammy!" I said. He was a blue triceraptops, and he had his orange pumpkin bucket. "Thanks sis, is Kieran gonna be here soon?" He asked me. "He should be here soon." I said, ruffling his hair. We went downstairs to wait for him, on the front porch. Sammy and I were playing slap jack on the front steps, when we hear this moaning. "Sammy did you hear that?" I asked, with a whisper. "Yeah, what was that?" He asked, looking around. We heard footsteps, they were getting closer, and closer. Until I felt a hand on my shoulder. "AHHHHHH" I screamed, and fell off the step. "Oh shoot, sorry baby. I didn't mean to scare you so bad." I felt someone pull me up, and I saw it was my boyfriend. "Are you hurt?" He asked concerned. "No, no I'm fine." I said, dusting off my dress. "I'm so sorry." He said. "It's okay babe, you look awesome!" I said, because he really did. His zombie look was so cool! He had on a shredded t-shirt, with some blood stains on it, and a bite mark on his bicep. His face was covered in blood, and his hair was messy in a cute way. He deffinetly looked like he was in a zombie hoard, and it was amazing! "Thanks baby, and may I say you're the prettiest fallen angel I have ever seen." He said, kissing my head. "Hehe, thank you." I said blushing. "Hey Sammy, you look great! You ready to get some candy?" Kieran asked my brother. "Yeah! Let's go!" He said, standing up. "Mom, we're heading out now!" I told her, before we left. "Okay, you kids have fun, and be safe! And be home before ten!" She said. "We will!" I said, and the three of us headed off. "Trick or treat!" We said at the first house. "Oh, hello there. What a scary dinosaur!" This ederly lady said, as she brought out a candy bowl. Sammy gave her a little rawr, and she thought it was so cute. "Here you go." She said, dumping candy into his bucket. "Wow! Full sized candy bars! Thank you!" Sammy said, as we moved on to the next house. "Happy Halloween!" The eldery lady said, as she waved goodbye. We went to every house on our street, before we headed down Kieran's street. "Come on, guys my mom made special treats!" Kieran said, as we headed to his house. "Trick or Treat!" Sammy said. "Hey kids! I have something special for you!" Kieran's mom said. "Rice crispy bars!" Kieran's mom said, handing us each one. "Thanks mom, but Emily doesn't really eat these." Kieran said, and I appreciated it. "Oh right, sorry hon. But I do have something I know you like." She said, stepping inside. "Are these okay?" She asked me, it was gummy bears! "They're perfect! Thank you!" I said, accepting the gummy bears. "You're welcome, kids happy Halloween!" Kieran's mom said, before waving us goodbye. We finished up the street, and Sammy's bucket was getting heavy. "Here buddy, let me carry that for you." Kieran said, taking his bucket. "Thanks Kieran." He said, with a smile. "I think we're done trick or treating, huh Sammy?" I asked, and he nodded. I looked at my phone watch, and saw that it was getting close to ten. "We better start heading home, it's getting late." I said. "But sis, cant we see what's going on in the park?" Sammy asked. "Sorry Sammy, I promised mama I would have you back before ten." I said, and Sammy looked disappointed. "Hey buddy, how about tomorrow I take you to the park and teach you how to skate?" Kieran offered. Sammy perked up at that. "Really?! Thanks Kieran, I would love that!" Sammy said excited. "That was really nice of you, he's been wanting to learn how." I told Kieran, as we made our way back home. "No problem baby, I love your brother, it would be my pleasure to teach him everything I know." He said, and I loved him more for it. As we were walking back to my house, there was this weird shadowy figure down the road by a street light. "Hey babe? Who's that?" I whispered to Kieran. "I don't know, but maybe you and Sammy should get behind me." He said, and we immediatley started walking behind Kieran. "Well hello there, you kids are out awfully late." The figure said, with a creepy airy voice. "We're just on our way home man, we don't want any trouble." Kieran said firmly. "I don't you're going anywhere." The figure said, and pulled out a knife! I was scared out of my mind, and Sammy started trembling. "Woah, hold on there dude, I know it's Halloween but there's no need for this." Kieran said with a hand out. "My girlfriend and I were killed on Halloween night, now I roam these streets every October 31. Taking revenge on the world." He said. "Look dude, I'm sorry for what happened to you. But that doesn't mean you should go around killing people." Kieran tried to reason with the ghost. "Then tell me why, I was the one who gets to come every year, and my girl doesn't?!" He said, getting closer to us. "You seem to have a girlfriend, pretty little thing she is. You would do the same for her, wouldn't you?" The ghost asked. "Of course, I would do anything for Emily. But revenge isn't going to bring your girl back." Kieran said. The ghost dropped the knife and put his head in his hands. I could have sworn I heard him sobbing. "I know, I know, nothing I did ever brought her back." The ghost cried. "I just miss her so much." He sobbed. Kieran carefully walked over to the ghost, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "She must have been pretty important to you." He said, kindly. "She was amazing, her name was Rosemary." The ghost began his story. "We were high school sweethearts, I was a nerd and she was a dancer." He smiled at the memory. "I used to go to her recitals and watch her dance so elegantly, she was beautiful." The ghost looked down again, and more tears escaped his eyes. "I couldn't believe she wanted to go out with me, but the day she said yes was the best day of my life." He continued. "We went out one Halloween, I was dressed as Joker and she was Harley Quinn. We both loved Batman, go figure." He chuckled. "Anyway, we were on our way home, when these two guys came out of nowhere. They stole our candy, and pulled knives on us." The ghost said starting to shake. "I tried to protect Rosemary, I shielded her, but those jerks ripped her out of my arms, and before I could do anything. One of them slashed my throat, and I died almost instantly." The ghost said shuddering at the memory. Then, before I took my last breath, they slit Rosemary's throat and she fell to the ground." The tears were coming more vigorously. "I watched her die, then I succumbed to my own injury, and I died too." He said, violently wiping his eyes. "When I woke up, I was in this weird white place. Then I heard a voice. It said. "Mason, because you tried to protect the one you love, you will be given a gift." "I wasn't sure what it meant then, but apparently every Halloween I can come back to the land of the living, and protect other people." Mason said. "Only it made me bitter and angry, I was so mad that I got to do this every year, and my sweet Rosemary didn't." Mason's hands balled into fists. "I started taking other people's lives, instead of protecting them." He unclenched his fists, and looked up at Kieran. "I let the love of my life down, she would hate the person I've become." Mason cried. "It's not too late, to make her proud." Kieran said, smiling softly. "What can I do?" He asked. "You could help us get home safely." Kieran said, standing up. Mason nodded, and led us towards my house. "There you go, home safe and sound." Mason said. "Thanks man, and I know Rosemary, wherever she is, I know she's smiling at you." Kieran said. "Thank you, for giving me this second chance." Mason said. Then he slowly started to disapear. "Well, I guess I'm done for the year. Goodbye." Mason said, waving. Then he vanished, into a golden light. "Well this will be a Halloween we won't forget." I said to Kieran, grabbing his hand. "It certaintly won't be my love." He said, holding my hand.
